The Informational Interview Program was created as Career Services adapted to virtual reality during COVID-19.
Through the Informational Interview Program, students are matched with a career professional who volunteers their time to meet with you virtually. Students have the opportunity to interview the career professional to learn more that specific career and industry.
This program is only open to current COD students who are in good academic standing (GPA 2.0 or higher) and have completed at least 12 credit hours.
Program Benefits
The Informational Interview Program gives students the chance to:
- Begin the career search early
- Explore what you can do with your major
- Learn about workplace culture and responsibilities
- Meet with local professionals
- Develop key career-readiness skills
- Earn a certificate of completion and put a brand new experience on your resume
The Informational Interview Program is an exciting new opportunity for our students to extend their learning beyond the classroom and explore the workforce.
But this is not possible without our community partners. If you're interested in chatting with our students about your company and career preparation, read on to discover the benefits and rewards of this new program.
Employer Participation
Hosting an Informational Interview allows local businesses to build their company brand and presence on the College's campus. Employers can network with talented and engaged students, scout potential future interns or employees, connect with community resources and educate and guide students who are excited to learn about the professional world.
