Student Planning and myACCESS Assistance

College of DuPage has two self-service tools, Student Planning and myACCESS for Students, which can be used to complete everyday tasks online 7 days a week. Follow the instructions on this page for the most common student tasks.

You must be a current College of DuPage student to log into the student portal and register for credit classes. If you have not applied to College of DuPage, visit Admissions and Outreach to get started. If you’re looking for non-credit continuing education classes, visit Continuing Education for more information.

What Would You Like To Do?

  1. Log into the portal at inside.cod.edu and click on "myACCESS for Students." From the drop down menu select “Student Planning," then select “Student Planning Self Service.” Next, click on “Go to Plan & Schedule” located under “Plan Your Degree & Register for Classes.” 
  2. Next, on the Plan your Degree and Schedule page make sure you’re in the correct semester by clicking on the directional arrow next to the semester. Click on the + symbol to add the next semester.
  3. Locate the search box with the magnifying glass. Here you may type the subject, subject and course number or class name. For example, to search for ENGLISH 1101 - English Composition, you may enter: ENGLI, ENGLISH, ENGLI 1101, ENGLISH 1101 or English Composition. 
  4. A list of courses matching your search criteria will be generated. You can “Add Course to Plan” (often used with Counseling & Advising) or select “View Available Sections” to see all sections (days/times/instructors) being offered this semester for this course.
  5. Click “View Available Sections” and you will see a list of all sections being offered the current semester. Review the Seat Availability, Times, Location and Instructor. Click on any section of the course to see additional details such as prerequisites and a course description.
  6. Click "Add Section to Plan" if you’d like to add it to your plan.
  7. If you clicked Add Section to Plan, this specific section of this course is now listed as planned and it will be displayed in yellow. You are not registered yet.
  8. You can continue to add more courses to your plan or if you’re ready to register, select “Back to Plan & Schedule.
  9. Once back on the Plan and Schedule page, locate the planned courses and click the blue “Register” button for each class individually OR click the “Register Now” button to register all planned courses.
  10. After clicking Register, the message “Updating Schedule” will appear. If registration was successful, the course will change from yellow as planned, to green as registered. The class will now say “Registered” above it. Your schedule will populate on the grid and show course meeting days/times. NET classes will appear below the grid and only show start and end dates.
  11. Payment is required the same day you register or you risk being dropped. View the Payment Policy webpage for more information and instructions on how to pay in full. Permission to register will expire at 11:59 pm the same day you receive an email notification to your dupage.edu mail that a seat is available. If you fail to register, you will be dropped from the waitlist and permission will move to the next student in line on the waitlist. If you have an Academic Standing hold on your account you will be unable to register online and must contact Student Registration Services during normal business hours to register.   1. Log into the portal at inside.cod.edu, click on myACCESS for Students and from the drop down menu select “Student Planning,” then select “Student Planning Self Service.”
  2. On the next screen under “Plan Your Degree & Register for Classes” click on “Go to Plan & Schedule.”
  3. On the Plan & Schedule page make sure you’re in the correct term by clicking on the directional arrow next to the term. Click on the + symbol to add the next term.
  4. Classes that have already been added to your plan will be displayed on the left side of the page and say “Planned.” If you’re viewing on a cell phone you must scroll down to see the planned classes. Note , these classes are planned, you are not registered for these classes until you click the “Register” button. Once registered, the color changes to green, instead of “Planned” it will say “Registered,” and there will be a “drop” button.

  1. Log into the portal at inside.cod.edu.
  2. After logging into the portal at inside.cod.edu, click on myACCESS for Students then select “Student Planning” from the drop-down menu, then select “Student Planning Self Service.”
  3. Next, click on “Go to Plan & Schedule” located under “Plan Your Degree & Register for Classes.”
  4. Locate the class you wish to drop. Click the blue “Drop” button. A pop up will appear confirming the class you have elected to drop. Make sure the correct class is selected and click “Update.”
  5. The class will be dropped from your schedule; however, the course will remain in your planned courses.

  1. Log into the portal at inside.cod.edu.
  2. After logging in, click on myACCESS for Students then select “Academic Profile” from the drop-down menu, then select “My Class Schedule.” Select the current term.

Your class schedule will provide class meeting information, a link to purchase textbooks, and the last day to drop with 100% and 50% refund as well as the last day to drop/withdraw with no refund.

How to Register for Planned Classes

How to find Honors Courses in Student Planning

Process Update: The following video shows the student going to the Quick Links menu and logging into myACCESS for Students. This process has changed. To log into Student Planning, where you will search and register for classes, complete the following steps:  

  1. Log into the portal at inside.cod.edu with your username and password.
  2. Click on the arrow next to "myACCESS for Students." 
  3. From the drop-down menu select "Student Planning."
  4. Select "Student Planning Self Service."
  5. Next, click on "Go to Plan & Schedule" located under "Plan Your Degree & Register for Classes." Once there you may follow the video instructions to search and register for classes.

If you have a restriction hold on your student record that is preventing you from adding or dropping classes you may determine the type of hold and the appropriate office to contact for assistance by following these detailed instructions.

If you need to drop a class while the restriction hold is in place, contact Student Registration Services for assistance.

Additional Features of Student Planning and myACCESS

To access: log into the portal at inside.cod.edu, select myACCESS for Students, then select Student Planning. In Student Planning choose Financial Information (the bank symbol) from the side menu. If on a cell phone the menu can be accessed by clicking on the 3 bars in the upper left-hand corner. If you have logged directly into myaccess.cod.edu look under the Financial Aid menu.

To access: log into the portal at inside.cod.edu, select myACCESS for Students, then select Student Planning. In Student Planning choose Academics (the graduation cap symbol) from the side menu. If on a cell phone the menu can be accessed by clicking on the 3 bars in the upper left-hand corner. 

  • Course Catalog – An alphabetical listing by subject, of courses offered at the College of DuPage.
  • Grades – See the recorded grades for completed classes.
  • Unofficial Transcript – View and print a copy of your unofficial transcript. It will only show completed/graded classes.
  • Transfer Summary – A summary of transfer credits from other institutions.

To access: log into the portal at inside.cod.edu, select myACCESS for Students, then select Student Planning, next select Student Planning Self Service then select “Go to My Progress” under View Your Progress.

  • View your progress toward a degree or certificate, modify your education plan, communicate with your program advisor

To access: log into the portal at inside.cod.edu, select myACCESS for Students, then select Academic Profile from the drop-down menu.

  • Grades
  • Degree Evaluation – see how many credits you need to complete the academic program you have selected
  • Unofficial Transcript and Official Transcript order form
  • Enrollment verification request - proof of your status as a student. Insurance companies, loan agencies and other organizations may require a verification in order for you to be eligible for certain benefits.
  • My Profile – view all student information including address and phone, academic program, GPA, priority registration credits and any student restrictions that would prohibit registration.
