Financial Aid Workshops

To assist with financial aid counseling, the Office of Student Financial Assistance provides Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion sessions. For more information, call (630) 942-2251 or email financialaid@cod.edu.

FAFSA Completion Sessions

Due to changes to the 2024-2025 FAFSA, preview what to expect when filing out your 2024-2025 FAFSA. 

The 2024-2025 FAFSA and Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid covers Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.

Due to changes to the 2024-2025 FAFSA, all contributors will need to have a FSA ID set up prior to completing the FAFSA.  This includes those contributors without a Social Security Number.

Student and contributors will need the following:

  • If completing the FAFSA, student and all contributors must have their FSA ID set up at studentaid.gov > Create Account
  • Copy of student’s 2022 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Forms
  • If Dependent, a copy of parent’s 2022 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Forms
  • If married, a copy of spouse’s 2022 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Form

The 2023-2024 FAFSA cover Fall 2023, Spring 2024 and Summer 2024. The Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid covers Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.

Student will need the following:

  • If completing the FAFSA, Student must have their FSA ID set up at studentaid.gov > Create Account

  • Copy of student’s 2021 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Forms
  • If Dependent, a copy of parent’s 2021 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Forms
  • If married, a copy of spouse’s 2021 Federal Tax Return and/or W2 Form

Session Dates and Time

These will be open sessions with a Financial Aid Representative available to assist.

Check in at Seaton Computing Center, SCC, Room 123.  The FAFSA Completion sessions will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Students can also reach out to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) for one-on-one assistance.
