Students who completed a transitional math course outside of the Community College District 502 should have a TM001, TM002 or TM003 code on their high school transcript.
- TM001 code allows enrollment into Math 1431 Pre-calculus.
- TM002 code allows enrollment into Math 1218 General Education Math or Math 1220 Quantitative Literacy.
- TM003 code allows enrollment into Math 1115 Technical Math.

Steps to Enrolling in Math Courses at COD
The steps below can help you become a College of DuPage student and have your transitional math course added to your COD record.
- Create a profile and submit your general admission application. Use your personal email address (not your high school email address) when completing the application.
- Once you are a COD student, send a copy of your high school transcript with the TM001, TM002, or TM003 code to HSTranscript@cod.edu For placement purposes, your transcript can be an official or unofficial transcript - no photos or screen shots will be accepted. Your transcript should contain your high school name, student name, math course name, TM001 code, TM002 code or TM003 code,and graduation year. In the subject and body of the email message, state “Please review my transcript for transitional math.” Your transitional math code is valid for 18 months from the date of graduation.
- Wait a few days for the transcript to be evaluated. To access: log into the portal at inside.cod.edu, select myACCESS, then select Academic Profile from the drop-down menu. Look for the “Transfer Course Summary” section.
- After your transitional math grade of A, B or C has been evaluated, you are allowed to register for Math 1220, Math 1218, Math 1115, Math 1102, Math 1100, Math 0481 or Math 0465. Ask for assistance from Counseling, Advising and Transfer Services or math faculty advisor to determine which math class best fits your area of study.
Different Math Course for Your Plan of Study
If a transitional math student needs to enroll in a math course that is not part of the quantitative literacy transitional math partnership, then the student could use a proctored ALEKS score to enroll in other math courses. Proctored ALEKS placement scores are valid for 12 months.
Check with a Counseling, Advising and Transfer Services or math faculty advisor to help you choose which math course fits your area of study.

Look for the third bullet point that starts “A proctored ALEKS PPL score from another institution.”
Option Two
If you do not have a proctored ALEKS score or would like to take a proctored ALEKS test to improve your score, follow the directions on the Math Placement webpage.
