College of DuPage and the College’s Faculty Association (CODFA) reached an agreement on a four-year successor contract for COD’s more than 250 full-time faculty members, which was approved by a 91.5 percent majority of faculty membership. With the faculty membership’s approval, the contract was presented to the Board of Trustees Dec. 21 for ratification.
“We are pleased with this agreement, which is fair and equitable to our faculty and students," said College of DuPage President Dr. Brian Caputo. "Our institution also has a responsibility to ensure a strong financial future for the College and its local taxpayers.”
The four-year agreement, which comes after a year of negotiating, provides a 4 percent pay increase in the first year and a 3 percent increase in each of the next three years.
Board Chair Christine Fenne voiced her support for the agreement.
“This contract continues College of DuPage’s focus on the success of our students and support for our outstanding faculty,” she said. “On behalf of the Board, I thank representatives from both negotiating teams for their work in finalizing this agreement.”
