The Elmhurst University Exercise Science major has been designed to address the basic standards for the professional preparation of exercise science students. These standards provide the undergraduate student with entry-level skills and knowledge to function in a wide range of employment opportunities.

The University's exercise science program provides a foundation for employment in corporate or hospital settings, health and wellness intervention programs, health clubs and other health-related careers.

Many exercise science graduates pursue graduate study in exercise physiology, medicine, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy and health promotion.

  • College of DuPage students are required to complete an Associate in Arts degree and meet Elmhurst University admission requirements. Elmhurst gives preference to students with cumulative grade-point averages of 2.50/4.0. Serious consideration will be given to applicants with cumulative grade-point averages between 2.00 and 2.49.
  • This is a recommended course sequence for students interested in pursuing the AA to BA Exercise Science program with Elmhurst University. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. If this program plan is followed, students will earn an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from College of DuPage and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Exercise Science from Elmhurst University.

Guaranteed Admissions Program

College of DuPage students need to indicate their intention to participate in the program by filling a Guaranteed Admission Program Participation Form at the time of their application to Elmhurst University. This form should be submitted at least one year in advance of your first semester at Elmhurst University.
