During the recent 2025 Scholarship Celebration sponsored by the College of DuPage Foundation, COD student Iryna Dzivoroniuk spoke about the impact of receiving the Aveling Memorial Scholarship.

Originally from Ukraine, Dzivoroniuk is pursuing nursing as a way of taking the pain of her past and turning it into something meaningful to help others heal.
“This scholarship has given me hope that no matter where I came from, I can build a better future through education, and your kindness has changed my life,” she said.
This year, the COD Foundation awarded more than 400 scholarships totaling $591,000, with more than 630 donors supporting scholarships or the general scholarship fund. The annual breakfast brought together more than 200 people, many of whom were either scholarship donors or recipients and their families, to share their stories and celebrate success.
