College of DuPage joined Argonne National Laboratory and the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition in hosting manufacturers, business leaders and industry professionals for the 2025 Manufacturing Solutions Summit, held in the Student Resource Center on the College’s Glen Ellyn campus.

The event convened partners from across Illinois to explore current challenges, emerging opportunities and strategic pathways for growth in the state’s manufacturing sector.

“Strong partnerships between education, government and industry are essential to fueling innovation and driving economic growth,” said COD President Dr. Muddassir Siddiqi. “We are proud to bring together these thought leaders to help shape the future of manufacturing in Illinois.”

Participants heard from representatives of COD’s Manufacturing Technology program, Innovation DuPage, Argonne National Laboratory, Nicor Gas, the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. Presentations were followed by a moderated Q&A session that encouraged open discussion around workforce needs, industry trends and potential solutions to common challenges.

Attendees also toured the College’s state-of-the-art Technical Education Center, where students train on advanced equipment used in today’s manufacturing environments.

Summit partners included Make It In Illinois, Innovation DuPage and Choose DuPage.
