Unleash your imagination, creativity and expertise in the field of Cosmetology. Expert faculty and staff will prepare you for a stimulating and rewarding career, whether you are pursuing a degree or certificate.
Students will learn professional techniques in hair design, chemical processes and aesthetics and nail technology. The program teaches students business, life and professional skills and prepares them for the state certification through the Illinois Cosmetology License from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Course schedule follows the COD academic calendar. Fall courses start end of August. Spring courses start mid-January.

The Cosmetology program is offered at the Addison Regional Center at 301 S. Swift Road in Addison.
Students who successfully complete 1,500 clock hours and pass a practical and written exam are awarded a certificate from COD.
Students who choose to continue their education or take classes while earning their certificate can earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Cosmetology.
The full-time format is a fast-paced, three semester program, whereas the part-time program is offered over five semesters.
Students are expected to maintain a professional appearance throughout their coursework.
