WBK Engineering

WBK Engineering, LLC, is a Certified Tribally Owned 8(a) Small Business civil engineering, planning, and environmental resources consulting firm with offices in St. Charles, Illinois and Battle Creek, Michigan. WBK offers municipal engineering, stormwater management, flood mitigation design and permitting; wetland and environmental resources identification, permitting, and restoration; transportation and structural engineering; and site development planning services for private and public clients.

WBK is wholly owned by the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi and part of Bodwé Professional Services, a group of consulting firms owned by the Band. The group also includes Seven Generations A+E (architecture), The Steelhead Engineering Company (MEP engineering), and Blue Star Integrative Studio (architecture) which allows Bodwé to provide a full suite of architectural and engineering services to clients. As part of this family of companies since 2016, WBK has begun providing engineering services to federal agencies and was awarded a prime IDIQ engineering contract with the US Fish and Wildlife Service in 2022.

Today, a significant portion of WBK Engineering revenue comes as a sub or prime contractor for many federal clients, including the US Army Corps of Engineers, General Services Administration, Veterans Health Administration, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Indian Education, and Indian Health Service. This momentum was supported through the assistance of Rita Haake, Program Manager with APEX Accelerators – Illinois PTAC at the College of DuPage.

“When we were just starting to map out our federal marketing strategy, Rita and the PTAC provided mentoring and assistance with the process and resources available for marketing to federal clients. They were also very helpful in developing our capabilities statement. We wouldn’t be as far along in our federal development without their assistance.”
