Dementia Care Practitioner

Course curriculum includes modules on the following topics: diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, depression, repetitive behavior, paranoia, wandering, catastrophic reactions, intimacy and sex, personal care, pain, nutrition, activities, environment and more.

Instructor

Mary Horstman R.N., M.B.A., CADDCT, is a NCCDP certified trainer. She has 20 years of experience and training in geriatric care, including her work as a geriatric psychiatric nurse, experience in home care and teaching and training others in Alzheimer’s care. Horstman has been a Certified Dementia Practitioner® for more than seven years and earned her Dementia Practitioner Care Trainer Certificate in 2017.
