NSO Family and Guest Information

As your student begins their transition to College of DuPage, we want you to be a part of the process! The Family and Guest Session takes place on each day of New Student Orientation and allows guests to:

  • Discover resources and services at the College.
  • Learn how to best support their student.
  • Get answers to the questions their students may forget to ask.

At the Welcome Session for Family and Guests, you'll learn about the COD Community. From campus resources to student wellness, you'll discover it here!

After the Welcome Session, you can join your student at workshops or sip on some coffee at the VIP Coffee Connect. This is an informal session where counselors, Orientation Leaders, and other college staff will be available to answer questions and speak about their Chaparral experience.

  • Check-in: 8:15 a.m. You will check in alongside your student.
  • Welcome Session for Family and Guests: 9 to 10:15 a.m.
  • ¡Bienvenidos! Sesión para Padres y Familias: 9 to 10:15 a.m.
  • VIP Coffee Connect Informal Drop-In Session for Parents and Guardians: 10:30 to 11:55 a.m.
  • VIP Sesión de Café y Conexiones: 10:30 to 11:55 a.m.
  • Prize Drawing and Free Lunch Social: 12:05 to 1:30 p.m. (with students)

When your student signs up, they will indicate whether or not they are bringing a guest. Guests do not need to sign up separately and will check in alongside their student.
