Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) Exam Review Course

This online instructor-led review course is designed to prepare students for the National Association of Boards of Examiners (NAB) national exam and the Illinois Supplemental Jurisdictional exam to become a Nursing Home Administrator.  The course will review the federal and state regulations, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements, Medicare, Medicaid and guide students on how to study effectively.

Objectives

  1. Prepare students to complete the NAB national exam.
  2. Prepare students to complete the IL Supplemental Jurisdiction exam.
  3. Develop a study plan to effectively manage exam review materials.

Outline

  • Day One: Examine application process and Introduction to federal regulations.
  • Day Two: Review and discuss federal regulations.
  • Day Three: Outline test taking tips and introduction to state regulations.
  • Day Four: Review and discuss state supplemental exam, specifically Illinois licensing rules.

Instructor’s Bio

Jennifer Conniff, MHA, LNHA, LALD, RCAL has been working in the long term care field for 30 years in Skilled Care, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Independent Living and in home community based services. She is an adjunct faculty at the College and serves as the Program Chair for the COD Long Term Care Administration program.
