Days/Hours Available for Service Learners
Students will be assigned to programs based on their availability. Program hours run day, evening, and weekends with varying locations throughout Naperville, Wheaton, Warrenville, West Chicago, Winfield, Glen Ellyn, Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, and Roselle.
Description of Service Learner Role
Students will be assigned to assist with a variety of weekly recreational programs offered for individuals with disabilities. We offer a large variety of programs including athletics, art, dance, social programs, special events, cooking, healthy living, and more.
Organization Requirements
Volunteer Request Form required: Visit www.wdsra.com to view current brochure, click on employment/volunteer to print off a volunteer request form. Form must be completed and in the office before your experience can begin.
Willingness to learn, open mindedness and heart/compassion for the individuals you will be working with. Must be able to take direction from the lead staff of the program.
Number of Placements Available
Number will be based on program season. Best to complete a volunteer request form in August for September-December programs; December for January-May programs; and May for June-August programs.
