An initiative of the College’s Community Engagement Department, members of COD Cares volunteer corps cleared garden beds at the College’s Fuel Garden and St. James Farm, cleaned a portion of the DuPage River’s east branch, tagged storm sewers for The Conservation Foundation and removed debris and prepared compost on COD’s Glen Ellyn campus.

The Community Engagement Department supports the College’s mission to be a center of excellence in teaching, learning and cultural experiences and its vision to be the primary college district residents choose for higher quality education. We believe in the transformative nature of education and strive to positively impact the communities and organizations in District 502.

You outdid yourselves, College of DuPage

We put out the call for the Gift of Giving winter campaign and you delivered...

  • Vital blood donations that saved up to 84 lives
  • Hundreds of baby clothes donated and dressers to benefit families and individuals in need
  • Food packed and distributed to Fuel Pantry clients and donations sorted for Humanitarian Service Project
Holiday cheer by decorating for DuPage Pads and Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans
  • Much-needed household donations and gift cards benefiting nine area non-profit organizations
  • Essential pet care items to the Naperville Area Humane Society

This year campaign also had participation from the Glen Ellyn campus and all four centers, and had an impressive 100 percent participation from COD Cabinet members! Make no gnomes about it….COD understands the gift is in the giving.

Thank you to all of this year’s participants. Gnome matter how you chose to give, it had an impact and demonstrated the College’s commitment to connecting with and supporting the communities it serves.
