MAC Kicks Off 40th Season With Free Festival Aug. 23
By Media Relations

Celebrating 40 years of artistic performances, the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) at College of DuPage kicks off its season with a free 40th anniversary festival from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Lakeside Pavilion on COD's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.
“Forty years ago, the MAC made a promise to this community to bring the world's best artists right to their doorstep. This season, we are keeping that promise in a big way and bringing in the best national and international acts,” said MAC Director Diana Martinez.
The family-friendly festival is headlined by '80s cover band Sixteen Candles and features art activities, excerpts from College Theater's production of "Footloose" and '80s dance lessons.
The MAC’s 2026-27 season features a range of performances, including comedies, musicals, tribute acts, plays and holiday-themed events. It will open on Saturday, Sept. 12, with COD alumnus Jim Belushi and The Sacred Hearts Band.
“This is a season I'm genuinely proud of, and I can't wait to share it with our community,” said Martinez.
