Men's Volleyball Breaks Program Record After 15 Straight Wins
By Evan Harvey

The COD men's volleyball team hosted the JV squad from Judson University on April 2 and earned a 3-1 victory (24-26, 25-17, 25-17, 25-22), avenging one of their only two losses this season. The Chaparrals also celebrated Sophomore Night, recognizing eight student-athletes who will be leaving COD after this season.
The win marked the program's 15th in a row, setting a new program record and surpassing last year's championship run. DuPage now sits at an astounding 26-2 on the year.
Danny Overlin led the DuPage attack with 12 kills, while Luc Neczek added eight. Adam Janowiak tallied seven kills and Matthew Pemberton contributed five.
The steady presence of Max McDermott in the passing game propelled the COD offense, as he recorded 27 assists on the night. Neczek added 11 assists. McDermott was also a force behind the service line, connecting on three aces, while Adam Sanchez and Joey Seebauer each added two aces.
Defensively, the dig duties were balanced. Nicholas Ockrim led the team with 10 digs. McDermott and Overlin each finished with six digs, while Jahir Lopez added five. Neczek and Janowiak both contributed solo blocks for the Chaparrals, with Pemberton adding two block assists.
Head coach Tolis Koskinaris shared his thoughts following the record-setting victory.
"Special day, special night, and all for a great group of sophomores. Congratulations to Danny Overlin, who signed his commitment to Lake Forest, and to the sophomores who were celebrated tonight and performed well with a win over Judson. Special efforts from Luc Neczek and Matthew Pemberton. Next up, the first-ever men's volleyball regional championship at home on Wednesday vs. Bryant & Stratton."
