GUSCO Silicone Rubber & Services

In February 2016, GUSCO Silicone Rubber & Services LLC sought assistance from the Illinois APEX Accelerator at College of DuPage.  GUSCO Silicone Rubber & Services LLC provides a variety of services including Extrusions, Compression Molding, Transfer Molding, Liquid Injection Molding, Die Cutting, Ablaiting, Compounding and other Specialty Services in multiple industries.  GUSCO has over 37 years of combined experience in design, fabrication, and real world implementation and was moving to increase their military contract sales.  Their immediate need was assistance with source approval of National Stock Numbers (NSN), primarily used by military agencies.  Rita Haake, PTAC advisor, began working with Gus Morales, President, for better understanding of the complex federal contracting systems he was facing and began to methodically approach guiding GUSCO Silicone Rubber & Services LLC in navigating the systems to formally become an approved source for twenty-eight different National Stock Numbers.  Rita attended a 'train the trainer' conference through a Defense Supply Center and was able to, not only bring that directed knowledge back to benefit GUSCO Silicone Rubber & Services LLC but also act as an intermediary with the agency on the most pressing issues.  Other advising has included solicitation & proposal reviews, created reports on procurement histories and understanding of clauses/terms applicable to his military contracts. Gus Morales appreciates the assistance and states.

"Since I started receiving assistance from College of Du Page Business Development Center PTAC Rita Haake, we have triple our sales. This year we are on a path to quadruple our sales, and we are on our way to move GUSCO to the next level. My family and GUSCO; we thank you so much."
