Tutoring and Academic Support Center Workshops

The Tutoring and Academic Support Center offers workshops throughout the year on math and geometry, study skill strategies and writing, reading and speech. Workshops are free to currently enrolled COD students.

NOTE: Not all workshops are offered each term.

Math Workshops

To register for any of the math workshops, sign up online, email math-assist@cod.edu , call (630) 942-3339 or stop by the front reception desk in the Tutoring and Academic Support Center. Registration is appreciated, but not required. Walk-ins are welcome when space is available.

Math Placement Open House

Get free help as you navigate the math placement process from preparation to testing to improving your score. You can even work with a tutor to review math skills. If you cannot attend an open house, please watch the recommended video and contact Math Assistance with questions.

Trigonometry Workshop

This workshop will review critical trigonometry skills required for success in MATH 2231 (Calculus I).

Factoring Workshop

This workshop will review critical factoring skills required for success in MATH 1431 (Precalculus I) and beyond.

Advanced Integration Review Workshop

This workshop reviews critical integration skills required for success in MATH 2270 (Differential Equations).

Math Anxiety Workshop

This workshop provides helpful hints for students who are feeling anxious about embarking on math studies.

Master Your Online Math Class Workshop

This workshop outlines tips and tricks for students taking online math courses.

Additional Workshops

Pizza and Planning

Enjoy free pizza while preparing for a successful semester. In this hands-on workshop, staff from the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) will offer tips designed to help students stay on top of assignments, create a study schedule, and manage their time effectively. Bring your course syllabi or a laptop to this in-person session in the Student Resource Center (Room 2131) to access your assignments and due dates.

The Tutoring and Academic Support Center's Nursing Boot Camp
