Dance Program

College of DuPage’s Dance program provides an education that is centered in rigorous training, creative research, body mechanics, diverse aesthetics and scholarship creating a versatile, multi-faceted dancer. Students gain experience through classes and productions taught by COD faculty who are active members in the Chicago, national and international dance communities.

Our fall and spring concerts feature dance works for the stage and screen by faculty, students and guest artists. With performances held in the Belushi Performance Hall within the McAninch Arts Center, students gain the experience of performing in a professional grade theater with fully produced productions supported by lighting and costume designers. The program collaborates closely with College of DuPage Theater, Art, Fashion, and Music programs providing a wide range of skills that can broaden potential career paths.

The Dance program offers introductory and advanced classes in dance appreciation, ballet, choreography and composition, hip hop, jazz, modern, tap, pedagogy, and production and performance.
