Entrepreneur finds a “sales gift” in COVID
Forty combined years of training individuals and the workforces of large companies did not prepare Simple Solutions Training for the challenges of COVID. Sandra Simpao, CEO of Simple Solutions Training LLC, has worked with Kraft, Follett and other industry leaders. She knows how to develop and deliver training programs for corporate, government and educational entities. But like many business owners Sandra had to rethink her entire sales process.
“I help individuals make the big corporate transition, and I help businesses with upskilling and reskilling, not just to learn skills but to get the job done,” says Sandra. “But in order to help businesses get the job done, I have to figure out how to first get in the door.”
The College of DuPage (COD) Business Development Center offered Ms. Simpao a door-opening solution to COVID. Their Illinois SBDC team - along with Sandra’s advisor, Program Specialist Doug Voegtle - developed an experimental program where outside consultants are brought in to collaborate one-on-one with SBDC clients.
The Illinois SBDC at College of DuPage created a project to help businesses like Simple Solutions Training to elevate their business to the next level. The CARES project cohort allowed the SBDC to align Sandra with a strategic expert. During this project Sandra not only identified new doors to open but how to create a strategic sales formula that leverages her brand difference: getting the job done.
“Understanding my brand difference not only helps me structure a product offering, it helps my business stand out from other training solutions,” says Ms. Simpao. “With my one-on-one consultant, I’ve transformed my obsolete sales approach into one that motivates me to reach for something more.”
Simple Solutions Training, LLC is a 100% minority, woman-owned business, and run by a certified corporate trainer that makes a difference in the lives of those seeking a transition to a more productive livelihood. To learn more about in-person and online training, visit ss-training.com
