Established over 30 years, Ballco Manufacturing, Inc. is a customer focused company that machines precision CNC parts for a wide range of industries throughout the United States. Their dedication to their customers drives them to invest in "state of the art technologies" and "best practices". Ballco has a fully staffed Engineering department; their Quality Plan is certified to AS9100 standards and their team receives annual training to keep abreast of the newest machine technology to meet current and future customer’s need.
Ballco reached out to IL PTAC College of DuPage in early 2016 after some success obtaining Navy contracts with the question - “What’s next?” - So the journey into government contracting began. Advisors introduced them to our step-by-step approach for doing business in the government space; starting with registration in the bid match service that searches over 1600 sites daily for open solicitations. Additional advising has been assisting the client to understand how to utilize the Dynamic Small Business Search tool to conduct competitive analysis, working with advisors to create reports from our proprietary system for procurement histories of National Stock Numbers including pricing information and learning how to navigate the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS). The DLA DIBBS system can be complex and not easily understandable so advisors worked with the Ballco team to create a method of searching that would be focused for their product offering. While focus has been on better understanding of the federal market place, Ballco Manufacturing, Inc. qualified for veteran owned small business status. Advisors assisted in better understanding of the multiple different certifications and then working with the client to move forward in submitting application, and receiving the US VA VOSB verification.
In addition, Advisors have assisted understanding and ensuring Federal Acquisition Regulation compliance as part of their federal contracting journey. The advisors at the Illinois PTAC at College of DuPage has committed approximately 29 advising sessions as of June, 2020 to help build their growing business into federal contracting successfully.
Vyto Liskunas stated, “The College of DuPage was so helpful in getting us more involved with military contracting. They showed us how to find orders, answered questions that we had regarding how to search for orders, contacts and other information. Their help was so important to our landing government orders. Thank you to all.”
