College of DuPage welcomes 140 incoming Scholars Award recipients and their families to campus during the 2013 Scholars Reception. Students talk about their reasons for choosing COD.
"My advice for others is to go for it! Apply for any scholarships you qualify for, take the tours, bring it up with your counselor if they haven't already discussed it with you. Unfortunately, my senior counselor was not a big advocate for COD. I found myself convincing him that this was the right place for me to start. So remember, you know yourself better than anyone. If you think you'd like to start here, then do it. COD provides a top-notch education and plenty of excellent opportunities at an affordable price. Personally, I highly recommend it."Read Spotlight
"I started attending COD for all the logical reasons -- it's close to home, affordable, filled with magnificent teachers and has a great campus, not to mention that you get a top-notch education at a fraction of the price of a four-year university," Chad Bobik said. "My advice to others is to never sell yourself short and always strive for more. College of DuPage can be a magnificent, life-changing experience if you open yourself to it and just take that first step."Read Spotlight
I am so thankful College of DuPage offered architecture courses because they helped me know that architecture was the career path for me, without having to spend tens of thousands of dollars like I would have if I had taken these courses at a university," Cherise Cerocke said. "In addition, taking these specialized classes got me excited about architecture. I can now see a direct link between my college education and my career and life goals."Read Spotlight
Tom FaronAssociate in General Studies
"I recommend College of DuPage to students who are trying to decide where to go. Don't underestimate the level of work required in the classes here just because it's not a four-year university. Many of these classes are based on the same material/book that a four-year university uses."Read Spotlight
