Description of Service Learner Role

Our adult volunteer program offers many opportunities in which volunteers ages 16 and up can
help NAHS. The humane treatment of animals includes providing a safe, clean place for them to rest prior to adoption, socialization, and exercise. In-shelter volunteer roles are vital to our success and include working with cats and dogs, cleaning, socializing, and walking.

Organization Requirements

  • Complete Volunteer Registration
  • Attend Volunteer Orientation (45 minutes to 1 hour), and Mentorship on either the cat (1.25 hours) or dog (1 hour) side- whichever animal you are most interested in providing care to.
  • Follow the dress code: your volunteer t-shirt, name badge, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.
