You can apply at any time, after attending a Project Hire-Ed Information Session. After viewing open positions and identifying position(s) you'd like to pursue, you can submit an application.
- Candidate attends Information Session
- Candidate reviews open positions & identifies if they want to move forward
- Candidates submit an application & schedule an intake interview to determine career readiness
- Eligible candidates can have their resumes shared with employers
- Employers review resumes and determine whether to offer an apprenticeship opportunity to the candidate
- Apprentice is employed, earns income while attending College of DuPage
- Apprentice receives benefits of full-time employment
- Apprentice receives wage increases as skills increase or set milestones are reached
- Employer pays for the full cost of the student's program courses, labs and fees
- Apprentice begins a career and earns college credits
- Apprentice graduates with no college debt
- Current students
- Career changers
- Veterans
- Unemployed
- Under-employed
- Recent high school or GED graduates
- Current high school students (Students may be eligible to begin Foundational Skills courses while in high school)
- A pipeline pipeline of future workforce
- Eligible for an Apprenticeship Education Tax Credit
- Increase employee retention and loyalty through apprenticeships
- Foster a diverse and inclusive culture through apprenticeships
Apprentices may come from a pipeline of potential candidates through Project Hire-Ed
or from your existing workforce as incumbent workers.
