College of DuPage recently premiered “Finding Your Way Home: Facing Housing and Food Insecurity,” the second installment in the College’s docuseries “Lifelines.”
Broken into three chapters, “Finding Your Way Home” examines the causes and dangers of various types of homelessness and highlights testimonials from professionals dedicated to finding solutions to alleviate these crises within DuPage County. In addition, COD alumna Megan DeAngelis and COD Dean of Adjunct Faculty Support Sonia Watson (pictured) both share their personal stories of hardship and how they overcome housing insecurity.
The documentary, created by the College’s Multimedia Services department, was premiered at a community viewing event hosted by the Marketing and Communications Division and featuring COD staff members as well as representatives from Bridge Communities, DuPage Pads and People’s Resource Center. In addition to viewing an extended trailer for the documentary, attendees participated in creating 250 care bags to help community members in need.
