The College of DuPage Board of Trustees approved the fiscal year 2024 budget at its regular meeting on Thursday, June 22, following a scheduled public hearing.

The $363.1 million expenditure budget for the fiscal year prioritizes service and facility enhancements to support student success. The fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2024.

Highlights include:

  • Facility updates to enhance educational spaces, including creation of hy-flex classrooms and technical labs
  • Hiring of 30 full-time faculty advisors to increase support resources for new and returning students
  • Renovations to the College’s Student Services Center, including workflow improvements to streamline core student services

“Strengthening services and improving access to key areas illustrates our commitment to our students and their success,” said College of DuPage President Dr. Brian Caputo. “The fiscal year 2024 budget sustains our core functions, while providing growth opportunities for the institution and its offerings.”

The College’s annual budget is the culmination of six months of work, during which input is solicited from the College community and institutional needs are identified, prioritized and resourced.

Board Chair Christine Fenne applauded the work of the College’s finance team and the Board’s Budget Committee in crafting a document that balances fiduciary responsibility with the needs of the evolving higher education landscape.

“Our 2024 spending plan thoughtfully addresses our current needs while assessing the future needs of students and our community,” she said. “This document illustrates our continued dedication to offering educational and enrichment opportunities, as well as resources to those we serve while remaining strong financial stewards.”
