Students will learn the skills needed to conduct internet-based investigations. Students will learn about the different Social Media companies and how their information can assist in investigations with a court order or search warrant. Learning about what information can be obtained from various companies (Ride Share, Resellers, Rental Providers, etc.). Students will understand how information from Internet Providers can assist in identifying offenders.
This course will be a two-day class (16 hours)
We offer an Open Source Intelligence Techniques class the day after this class which continues instruction on internet-based investigations but uses open source material to conduct internet based investigations without the need for legal orders.
