Community Service Officer Training

In a time of decreased law enforcement budgets, Community Service Officers (CSOs) have proven to complement police operations in a variety of functions which, in turn, have allowed law enforcement agencies to better allocate the services of sworn police officers. Training includes report writing, fingerprinting, conducting investigations, patrol observation, operation of police vehicles and the basics of community-oriented policing. Class discussions include the mission and values of police organizations, as well as ethics, rules policies and regulations.

Participants obtain the necessary foundation to become an asset to the communities they serve, while learning about the important role CSOs have in achieving their department's mission. Upon completion participants will receive a certificate to help them apply of a CSO job at a police department.
