Are you confused about the steps required to open a small business in Illinois? This session will provide fundamental knowledge about what it takes to open a business, including: understanding your entrepreneurial DNA, how to pick a name, branding, and the basic components of a business plan.

James Poznak, attorney in private practice at Poznak Law Firm Ltd (www.poznaklaw.com) will be present to discuss the differences in corporate structures (Sole Proprietor vs LLC and S-Corp), and provide a brief overview of trademarks.

Katherine O'Connell (www.blockadvisors.com) in Glen Ellyn, IL will present a half hour session on tax filing.

Learn about your aptitude as an entrepreneur. Understand risks, rewards, and lessons on the essential elements in launching a successful business in Illinois. By the end of the workshop you will be able to determine if you are ready to take the plunge.
