    The SBA's mission is to maintain and strengthen the nation's economy by aiding, counseling, assisting and protecting the interests of small businesses and by helping families and businesses recover from national disasters. Since its founding on July 30, 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has also delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses.
