Planning Resources Inc. is a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), consultant firm that specializes in sustainable design, green infrastructure, natural resource protection and management, landscape architecture, transportation planning and community planning. The firm is based in Wheaton, Illinois. Since its founding in 1981, Planning Resources has offered an interdisciplinary approach to projects, focusing on creating and maintaining livable communities. PRI first came to the College of DuPage PTAC in April of 2012. The main focus was growing their business through governmental contracting, specifically federal contracting via GSA Schedules contracting. The GSA Schedules are complex and confusing to small business.
The PTAC advisors were able to provide needed expertise and guidance in terms of the elements required within a proposal submission. As stated by the Business Development Director of Planning Resources Inc., "The PTAC Agency, specifically Rita Haake and her staff, has been a tremendous resource for Planning Resources Inc. As a small business trying to grow, it became increasingly difficult to wade through some of the paperwork involved in the GSA schedule. Rita simplified these procedures and assisted us through some difficult challenges along the way. In addition, her team continues to assist PRI through marketing and other business development procedures to this day." Many hours and many reviews of client documents culminated in a submission of a successful proposal to the GSA.
The PTAC was engaged with their Final Proposal Revision with the end result of award. The client has been awarded task orders from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Guard Bureau-USPFO utilizing the PRI GSA Schedule Contract. Planning Resources Inc. is accessing not only the bid match service to further identify all possible governmental opportunities, but also the COD Small Business Development Center for strategic marketing insights.
"If not for the help and support of this phenomenal program, which is funded through Cooperative agreements between the U.S. Department of Defense and state/local non-profit entities, our business would not have grown to be the multifaceted firm it is today. Our team will be forever grateful to the PTAC and their services."
Congrats city of Wheaton on a successful business.
