Industrial Measurement Systems, Inc (IMS Inc.) is a research and development firm that creates measurement systems to speed product development, measure critical material properties and improve product quality. It develops and manufactures systems for automotive, electronics and defense industries with an extensive background in material science, sensor technology and manufacturing technology to produce measurement solutions that accommodate the constraints imposed by material and manufacturing environments and to produce results that relate to product performance.
IMS Inc. reached out to Illinois SBDC International Trade Center (ITC) at College of DuPage with questions of export control. The ITC not only provided a guideline to help build the export control knowledge, but also introduced ISTEP grant to IMS Inc.
Don Yuhas, Managing Director, applied for their first ISTEP grant, which was awarded and used to support Eurobrake 2019. IMS Inc. received several valuable foreign contacts and have successfully received orders from China. IMS, Inc. utilized several services through the SBDC ITC at College of DuPage including contract review, legal office hour and attended the INCOTERMS workshop.
Don Yuhas, Managing Director at IMS, Inc. stated, "The timely and agile support of ITC in 2019 was greatly appreciated. They have been a delight to work with. The ISTEP support helped us introduce our new products at an international conference in Germany. The results were subsequent product placements in Italy and China. ITC support is a key element of our international marketing efforts in addition to offering useful and timely input on contracts and legal issues."
