Course Description: First semester of a two-semester sequence dealing with the structure and function of the human body and mechanisms for maintaining homeostasis within it. Includes the study of cells, tissues, and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular and nervous systems. Course is intended to be an alternative to ANAT 1571; credit toward graduation will be granted for ANAT 1551 or ANAT 1571, but not for both. BIOLO 1151 is strongly recommended. ** Note ** This course, taken after Spring 2017, will NOT count towards the Life Science requirement in the AA, AS, AFA or AAT degrees. Course Description: Intended for individuals preparing for naturalization and for successfully completing the oral interview and written test required for U.S. citizenship. The course provides an overview of significant historical events; facts and concepts of federal, state and local government; current political, governmental and social information; and explanations of United States' culture and institutions. The naturalization process and the One Hundred Questions developed by the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) are also covered. This course may be taken four times for credit.
