Application and Financial Aid Workshop

Do you need help completing your COD, FAFSA or Alternative Application application? Are you interested in taking summer or fall classes but need help figuring out where to begin? Register for the upcoming Application and Financial Aid Workshop at COD.

Two sessions are available on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023

Both sessions offer a Steps to Enrollment and Financial Aid presentation, Student Portal Overview and Open Lab.

Event Overview

During the Application and Financial Aid Workshop, you will participate in a Steps to Enrollment/Financial Aid presentation and a Student Portal Overview. Following that, you will have an opportunity to complete your admission application and apply for financial aid by receiving one-on-one help from COD staff in the computer lab. We want to make sure that you walk away knowing what steps to take after submitting your COD application, better understand how financial aid works, and what scholarships are available for those starting college in August.

Note: If you plan on completing your FAFSA application, please bring the documentation listed below.

The 2023 - 2024 financial aid applications cover Fall Semester 2023 and Spring Semester 2024.

If you will be completing the 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA, please be sure to bring the following with you:

  • Copy of student’s 2021 Federal Tax Return, 1040 and/or W2 Forms – if filed
    • If Dependent - copy of parent’s 2021 Federal Tax Return, 1040 and/or W2 Forms – if filed
    • If Married - copy of spouse’s 2021 Federal Tax, 1040 and/or W2 Forms – if filed
  • Bank statements and records of investments
  • Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
  • Student’s FSA ID – this should be set up online at studentaid.gov and clicking on “Create Account”.
    • If Dependent – please be sure one parent has also set up their FSA online at studentaid.gov and clicking on “Create Account”.

If you will be completing the 2023 - 2024 Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid, please be sure to bring the following with you:

  • Copy of student’s 2021 Federal Tax Return, 1040 and/or W2 Forms – if filed
    • If Dependent - copy of parent’s 2021 Federal Tax Return, 1040 and/or W2 Forms – if filed
    • If Married - copy of spouse’s 2021 Federal Tax, 1040 and/or W2 Forms – if filed
  • Bank statements and records of investments
