The specific purpose of the High School Equivalency Exam program is the measurement of the educational development of adults who have not completed their formal high school education. Candidates may earn an Illinois High School Equivalency Certificate and thus qualify for admission to colleges or other educational institutions, meet educational requirements for employment or promotion, satisfy educational qualifications for induction into the armed services, fulfill requirements of local or state licensing boards, or gain personal satisfaction.

Do I need a GED Credential to take classes at COD?

No. An IHEC is not required to take classes at College of DuPage. Contact the Admissions office for more information, (630) 942-2380.

No preparation is required; however, tuition-free classes are available.
