Important Notes
- To transfer, students should have a GPA of 2.0 or better.
- Students with existing coursework are encouraged to have a transcript evaluation completed by College of DuPage and Columbia College
- Columbia College will take up to 75 College of DuPage transfer credits. This will allow students to take three additional COD English courses that will transfer. Consult with your COD English faculty advisor, COD academic advisor, and/or Columbia College academic advisor for suggested courses and to understand where these courses fit in your academic plan.
- Note that other combinations and sequences of courses can be used to earn an AA degree at College of DuPage and prepare you for transfer to Columbia; however, it is strongly recommended that students work directly and frequently with a College of DuPage academic advisor, a COD faculty advisor in English, and a Columbia College Chicago transfer advisor, to develop a plan.
- Keep track of your coursework on your student planning worksheet to make sure your various course choices satisfy all COD Associate of Arts degree requirements. (Do not repeat coursework you have already successfully complete.)
- The plan here does not include summer coursework. However, you can choose to do coursework in summer to lighten your Fall/Spring course load and/or to increase the number of courses you are able to transfer to Columbia.
- To be eligible for the scholarship and participation in the guaranteed admissions
program students need to meet the following additional criteria:
- Complete a minimum of 24 transferrable credit hours from College of DuPage.
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA or better in all transferrable coursework.
- Submit a participation form with Columbia College. Find this form at: https://apply.colum.edu/register/GAinquiry
