Sites for Jobs

One goal of the LTA program is to assist students in finding good jobs. Below are sites to locate general job announcements. These are useful for all occupations. Most of the sites also have library jobs. See "Sites and Resources for Library Jobs" for specific library job information. You may also use these sites to search for library patrons, family members and friends.

Job, Career & College Information

College of DuPage Library Career & College Information

This site offers Job Information Resources, including local and national job listings, company information, and salary services; Career Information Resources, which includes interactive Career Interest Inventories and databases; and College Search and Financial Aid info.

America's Job Bank

America's Job Bank is a partnership between the U.S. Department of Labor and the state-operated Public Employment Service. Employers may post jobs, and job seekers may post resumes. To receive more in-depth services, you must register. This is a great resource for your library reference department.

Indeed is the #1 job site worldwide, with over 70 million unique visitors and 1.5 billion job searches per month. Indeed is available in more than 50 countries and 26 languages, covering 94% of global GDP. This is a good site for research and for the serious job seeker. Browsing is open to the public, but to save resumes and apply faster you will need to sign up.

Overseas Jobs

Let's think globally! Not too many library jobs are listed here, but this is a good resource for research and the global perspective for LTA jobs and beyond.

RAILS Job Board

Reaching Across Illinois Library System provides a Jobs Board as a service and convenience to our member libraries. Libraries and other employers may list library-related job openings on this page. All applications, interviews, hiring decisions, etc., are between the employers and job applicants.
