Professional Licensure Disclosures

The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations require disclosures by institutions regarding educational requirements for programs leading to professional licensure or certification regardless of modality. The institution must make readily available to enrolled and prospective students information about whether programs leading to professional licensure or certification meet educational requirements.

Before enrolling in a program intended to satisfy a particular state’s educational requirements for the practice of a particular occupation, students are strongly encouraged to review the information under the respective program. Students are also encouraged to contact the appropriate licensing agency to seek information and additional guidance before beginning a program outside of their home state. SARA institutions are required to provide related disclosures; institutions that participate in federal student financial aid programs must meet similar federal requirements.

If College of DuPage has not determined whether a program meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification outside the state of Illinois, you should contact the licensing entity to determine whether it meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification in the state you live or work.

The Professional Licensure Directory

NC-SARA also has created and maintained the Professional Licensure Directory, which provides contact information for five programs that lead to a professional license. These programs have the most enrollments per the data provided by SARA participating institutions.

  1. Counseling
  2. Nursing
  3. Psychology
  4. Social work
  5. Teacher Education

This resource does not house regulations or requirements; it is exclusively general contact information. Students may find this contact information helpful in their research on state licensure requirements in their locations. NC-SARA updates the contact information twice annually.

College of DuPage Licensure and Certification Programs

The following programs at the College of DuPage lead to professional licensure or certification in the state of Illinois. Below, find the webpages which provide specific licensure information and contact information for these programs.

If the program has not determined if it meets the educational requirements for licensure in other states, it may meet all or a portion of the educational requirements. We recommend that you contact the licensing agency directly before beginning the COD program if you reside or work outside of the state of Illinois.
