PSI Program Series

Organizational Leadership I - New and On Campus

Targeted for directors, managers, and administrators working in local government and leading broad initiatives using integrity and ethics. Learn to advance your organization as one that practices equity and inclusion. Learn strategies for coaching and developing individuals in your organization. Transform your communication skills to help you to listen with purpose, intent and advocacy to employees and residents. Learn best practices for problem solving with the demands and complexity in today’s local government.

Engaging Employees I - On Campus

Public focus on government effectiveness has placed public sector leaders under enormous pressure to maintain and improve performance, while simultaneously doing more with less. You will be provided tools and resources to improve workforce commitment and develop a culture of inclusion and collaboration. You will share best practices, improve performance, and develop core skills needed to address the change in the public sector.

Leading Teams I - On Campus

Targeted for those supervisors, team leads, managers and newly developing leaders and those that aspire to lead others in the future.  Employees often get promoted into a managerial role but rarely receive the appropriate training. When you align people and create an organization, where everyone works together in partnership for a common goal or direction, that organization becomes successful.  Inspire others to make a real difference at your workplace and to work toward a shared vision of positive change.

PSI - Project Management 1 Day Course - On Campus

Regardless of job title, we're all project managers. Take the next step for your municipality and your career to improve your ability to lead and deliver projects. Join us for this one-day, hands-on, interactive session to increase your ability to lead and deliver projects. You'll learn key principles that will help you deliver your projects, including leading factors for project success and failure. You'll learn how to develop plans to help you and your team stay on track as well as how to respond when (not if) changes occur. You'll get a better understanding of what agile project management is (and isn't) and why it's relevant to more than just systems projects. You'll walk away with practical techniques to identify and manage risks so you can spend less time reacting to problems and more time avoiding them in the first pace.
