Certified ScrumMaster®

Scrum is a specific set of practices and roles that teams use for getting work done, Scrum works by breaking large projects into smaller pieces (sprints) that can be completed by a team in short timeframes, and includes dynamic lists of the most valuable things that must be achieved, frequent planned and purposeful team check-ins, and designated team roles with high accountability, trust and transparency.

The end goal of Scrum is to help teams work together to exceed the expectations of customers. Teams of all kinds from all industries use Scrum, including human resources, marketing, design, software development and engineering, to name just a few.

What is a Scrum Master?

Scrum Masters are the Scrum experts within their team. They coach other team members and the business as a whole on the Scrum process, and continually look for ways to fine-tune their practice. The Scrum Master helps the team perform at its highest level, and protects the team from both internal and external distractions. Scrum Masters play a vital role in holding team members accountable to their working agreements, to Scrum values and to the Scrum framework itself. In Scrum-speak, Scrum Masters are sometimes referred to as "servant leaders" - those who lead without direct authority and put the team first.
