Join in this panel discussion, moderated by COD Alum and chairperson of the COD Board of Trustees, Maureen Dunne, as we talk to COD STEM Alumni to learn about their experiences and why you should consider starting your STEM path at COD. 

Join in our live webinar discussion with two Florida-based amusement park engineers, affectionately known as the STEAM SQUAD, as they share their experiences and discuss how they made their dreams a reality. In addition, get ready for them to show you some “homemade science” - projects you can do from home! This live session will be followed by a Q&A and is free to attend, but pre-registration is required.

Join faculty member Steve Santello as he welcomes you to his "crib." Highlights will include our gaming lab and our new virtual/augmented reality classroom. You'll learn all about the exciting equipment and technology COD has to offer.

COD Engineering Professor Scott Banjavcic sits down with Dr. Christopher Burke, CEO Christopher B. Burke Engineering and Professor of Practice at UIC Civil and Materials Engineering, to discuss why STEM careers are important in today's world. The Physics of Baseball with Alan M. Nathan

How does a baseball bat work? Does the batter's grip matter? What is "spin efficiency" and why do pitchers care? Learn the answer to these questions and more as we take a peek inside the world of baseball through the lens of physics. Professor Emeritus of Physics Alan M. Nathan from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will present this engaging talk while sprinkling in amusing high-speed videos and anecdotes about our national pastime. This talk has something for everybody, whether your interest is primarily physics, baseball, or the intersection between them.
