There's so much to explore....right in your own backyard! In partnership with College of DuPage, The Morton Arboretum is co-hosting an open house for local-area educators. Come and check out educator resources, workshops, and experiences available for you and your students for this school year! While this event is geared toward grades 6-12 educators, all are welcome.

College of DuPage
See what College of DuPage has to offer for you and your students, including volunteer opportunities, professional development, field trips, and more!
We will feature programming and resources for school-aged audiences, including our Learning Labs and Wonder Clubs programs. We will have promotional resources and some hands-on experiences to highlight the type of learning opportunities students can engage in during our programs.
Our organization provides in classroom lessons related to agriculture as well as yearly teacher workshops and teacher grants. All of our resources and lessons are free for DuPage County teachers.
The STEM Squad offers after school programs at your middle school, we participate in school STEM Nights, and lend supplies in our STEM Trunks. A few of these activities will be featured.
Discover interactive nature-based STEM programs and opportunities for students and teachers available at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County including field trips, classroom programs, outreach, and resources such as loanable materials.
We will bring in our circulating STEAM Kits and flyers with information on our teacher loan program, tech classroom visits and other school related services.
The Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum at Benedictine University offers a variety of natural science and environmental education programs, trainings, and events. Our natural history museum has over 3,500 specimens on display, including exhibits on geology, botany, zoology, paleontology, and more.
At the Lizzadro Museum, we offer a unique opportunity to combine art and science! Meet with our staff geologist to learn how we can help enhance your earth science and art curriculum.
NAA will have telescopes and operators for live views of the Sun or the night sky at our observatory or your school (or elsewhere); resources and speakers for indoor or outdoor presentations on the constellations, other visual targets in the sky, and substantive topics in astronomy and astrophysics.
We are featuring our STEM and Exploring posts, including our robotics samples and an airplane to make and take with you!
We will be highlighting our new education brochure that will list our new opportunities for schools, students and educator workshops in addition to showcasing our newest developments.
We will be featuring one of our programs using Edison Robots, and we will have flyers and swag for educators to learn more about utilizing our free, open sourced curriculum to get girls into tech. We are also in the middle of creating a tech HUB and curriculum for educators and adult champions to support middle schoolers on their tech pathway.
Let nature be your classroom! The Conservation Foundation’s McDonald Farm headquarters in south Naperville is an oasis in the suburbs that provides a unique place to explore nature and a working organic farm. Our 90-minute field trips are multi-disciplinary and developed to align with Next Generation Science Standards, incorporating STEAM themes (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Agriculture, and Math) and environmental stewardship.
The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL is a 1400 acre living laboratory of trees and shrubs from around the world. In addition to world-class tree and shrub collections, The Arboretum's ecosystems are a unique and perfect backdrop for K-12 classes, field trips and learning opportunities.
