Writing and Reading Center Philosophy

The Writing and Reading Center is a place where students, staff, faculty, and community members receive free assistance to further develop their writing and reading skills. We offer one-on-one sessions with our writing and reading coaches. Writing assistance includes talking through ideas and discovering topics, developing strategies for organizing and generating drafts, revising several drafts, and polishing the final draft. Reading assistance includes developing individualized strategies to help with speed, ease, and overall comprehension of both academic and non-academic materials.
