Supervisory Training

All College of DuPage administrators, classified supervisors and faculty who supervise classified staff as part of their normal workload are required to complete 12 Supervisory Training sessions.

These sessions provide information and tools to strengthen the skills of current supervisors and to better prepare new supervisors on procedures, methods and college expectations to be successful in their roles.

New Supervisors are required to complete the following 12 modules within the first two years of employment:

Annual Feedback – Making It Effective
Classified Job Descriptions and Range Placement
College of DuPage Hiring Process
Conflict Resolution
Continuous Improvement
How to Supervise People
Preventing Sexual Harassment*
Safety and Hazardous Materials
Supervisory Orientation
Understanding Budgeting and Purchasing at College of DuPage
Using C.O.D.’s Classified Discipline Policy for Positive Results
Workplace Violence/Drug Free Workplace

Certificates of Attendance will be sent for each session you attend. Once all 12 modules have been completed, you will receive a diploma from the TLC. Completion is defined as attending an entire session.

Sessions are offered at various times to accommodate your schedule. If you need the information from a session prior to the class meeting, you can schedule an individual session by calling Karen Troller (ext. 2649) or Eddy Lal (ext. 2668). Sessions may also be scheduled for departments or groups.
