Sonia Paul

I'm Sonia Paul and I'm from Naperville, IL. I am studying psychology and art therapy. My email is I am running for the position of trustee because I would like to further my involvement at College of DuPage in both a positive and productive manner. I believe that most important part of being a trustee is being attentive, efficient, and more than willing to collaborate with all members of the community. This is a position that requires public understanding, communication skills, and willingness to participate, which I believe I possess especially due to my involvement on campus. I am a student ambassador, president of Psi Beta on campus (the psychology honor's society), I'm the outreach officer for Feminist Alliance, an officer for Rotary club, a member of COD Best Buddies, Student Leadership Council, and Love Your Melon. I believe that the leadership roles that I hold on campus are a huge part of what makes me qualified to run for Board of Trustees. Being a part of so many extracurriculars plus having to keep up in my classes have taught me a number of skills such as time management, responsibility, communication skills, efficiency, and more. I would like to utilize these skills to make College of DuPage a better place and to especially make sure that every voice gets heard. What I most appreciate about College of DuPage is that there are so many different opportunities available to better oneself on campus. This could mean a range of different things like being able to access helpful sources like the learning commons or having the ability to choose from a wide selection of different clubs, or even taking it a step forward and going for leadership roles. Jobs are available on campus. We have an actual hotel and a restaurant for students to get hands on experience in their education. There are countless opportunities on campus for self improvement and I notice that wherever I look but I most importantly notice that in myself. I am beyond grateful to even have the opportunity to run for a position like this and I look forward to doing so.
