Student Spotlight: Sabrina Scott
Major: Associate in Science
Attending College of DuPage was an easy decision for Sabrina Scott.
“Receiving the Presidential Scholarship (which covers full tuition for two years), getting the big university feel, having countless opportunities, and the endless amount of academic support made it clear to me that I was going to be successful here,” she said. “I applied to be a Presidential Scholar because I wanted College of DuPage to know who I was and to leave a lasting impression during my time here.”
Scott initially was interested in a career in medicine. However, she is now attending Loyola University – which granted her its Presidential Scholarship – and majoring in finance, which may branch into another area of business.
College of DuPage did not disappointed her.
“COD gave me a quality education that pushed me to do my best and prepared me for my future endeavors. The faculty and staff all want to see you strive toward your future goals and are extremely helpful,” Scott said.
“My advice for prospective students is to take a tour of College of DuPage with a student ambassador and to push yourself in high school so you can apply for the scholarships offered through the College. When I went on a tour of COD, I knew instantly that I would be able to successfully lay a strong academic foundation down here and then continue to prosper at the university I transfer to. I didn’t choose College of DuPage. I just knew this is where I wanted to start my academic career toward my future endeavors.”
