Faculty Spotlight: Phil Hinton
Department: Massage Therapy
Phil Hinton first became interested in massage therapy due to his involvement in Asian martial arts for more than 25 years.
“I have always been fascinated by the body and how it works. So it just came about that I wanted to know how to help heal it,” he said.
In addition to teaching in the Massage Therapy program at College of DuPage, Hinton works at several chiropractic offices.
“I am drawn to teaching because when I experience something positive, I want to share it,” he said. “I hope my students learn a stable foundation of basics that enable them to grow and become unique therapists with their own style. I want them to learn to think outside the box and be different from each other.
“I like to take their preconceived notions of what bodywork is and challenge them to examine alternative possibilities.”
