Relighting
the Candle of Excellence in Education
Marva Collins

Marva Collins,
the founder of Westside Preparatory School
and the National Teacher Training Institute,
has successfully educated thousands of inner
city students. Her faith in their abilities
strengthens their belief in themselves and
expands their capacity for education. Collins
recognizes that all children are bright. Through her work, she
demonstrates that each child possesses the potential to exceed all
previously established expectations. To realize each student’s
potential, Collins maintains that educators must set the bar as high
as possible and sweep aside predetermined beliefs that success is
beyond their reach. Collins incorporates
the Socratic method of teaching and feels strongly that “the
classics never go out of style.”
She is a renowned speaker
and shares her exceptional teaching methods with educators
and students all over the world. Come explore with
Marva Collins how to make our children’s futures bright
by relighting the candles of excellence.
