Marva
Collins
Oct. 29, 2009, 7:30 p.m.
Marva Collins, the founder of Westside Preparatory School and the National Teacher
Training Institute, has successfully educated thousands of inner city students.
Her faith in their abilities strengthens their belief in themselves and expands
their capacity for education. Collins recognizes that all children are bright.
Through her work, she demonstrates that each child possesses the potential to
exceed all previously established expectations. To realize each student’s
potential, Collins maintains that educators must set the bar as high as possible
and sweep aside predetermined beliefs that success is beyond their reach.
